Motorcoach pull-off construction underway
The S. East Street curb has been cut away and grading is underway for the construction of a motorcoach pull-off space in front of the new Frederick Visitor Center site. The drop-off lane will allow arriving tour groups to safely exit their bus onto the sidewalk near the front entrance of the center. The bus turnaround lanes in front of the TransIt Center/MARC train station across the street will facilitate access by motorcoaches approaching from the south. Also this week, the City of Frederick re-striped the traffic lanes on this portion of S. East St., providing a center turn lane for left turns at All Saints St., Commerce St., and South St., improving vehicle access to the new center for traffic approaching from the I-70 interchange.
